The China Study Centre at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore organized a vibrant series of events in February 2024 to celebrate the Chinese New Year, Food, Spring, and Lantern Festivals. These festivities brought together students, faculty, and the broader community in a joyous celebration of Chinese culture. In addition, students and staff from UET participated in Chinese New Year and Spring Festival celebrations as well as an intervarsity competition focused on Chinese culture, music, and art organized by The Orange Line Metro Transit System, Lahore. These events provided a platform for students from various universities to compete and share their artistic expressions inspired by Chinese traditions.
The festivals featured a variety of engaging activities, including lantern-making workshops where students crafted intricate lanterns, and food offering a taste of traditional Pakistani and Chinese cuisine. Participants also enjoyed singing and art competitions, showcasing their talents and creativity. The festivities were a resounding success, leaving participants with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for the rich culture of Pakistan and China.
