Learning a language is basically acquiring a new skill that expands the horizons of socio-economic opportunities because you get to know a new culture, become part of a new community, and create opportunities through collaboration. A common saying goes, “Pak-China friendship is higher than Himalayas, deeper than ocean, sweeter than honey, and stronger than steel”. To further strengthen Pak-China relations, create better research and development opportunities and eliminate inequalities, it is paramount to learn Chinese language and collaborate with Chinese researchers and industry. China has a rich and beautiful culture which is absolutely worth exploring. China has emerged as a global power based mainly on its technical expertise. It is a great opportunity for Pakistani students and professionals to learn and collaborate. I am sure UETIANS and Pakistani students and professionals will light the candles of learning, exploration, and contribution through diligence, empathy and innovation, the values, and traits that the Chinese nation cultivated to flourish globally. We at China Study Centre, UET Lahore, are striving for engineering students’ empowerment through Chinese language learning, translation, and research. I hope we’ll continue to carve a path to our students’ brighter future.
